Bronx man gets prison in dating-snub slaying

NEW YORK Roy Gray was sentenced Thursday. The 29-year-old was convicted earlier this month of second-degree murder in the 2004 shooting of Levi Bernard.

Prosecutors say the 19-year-old Bernard had met a woman in an Internet chat room. They say she showed up at his apartment and threatened to have him shot for snubbing her.

Authorities say the woman left and returned to the apartment with Gray and two other men. They say she had told them Bernard had raped her.

The name of Gray's lawyer wasn't immediately available Thursday evening.

The woman is imprisoned on a burglary conviction. The other men are facing murder charges.
