Their nephew/cousin had been living with them for the past six months.
According to investigators, Peter Toscano shot his cousin multiple times inside the home on Smallwood Avenue last Sunday morning.
After hearing the gunshots, Gerald Toscano is accused of helping his son in dumping the body in the marshes of the Meadowlands in Kearny.
Voorhees' body has not been found despite an extensive search by police.
Essex County prosecutors have recovered a weapon and seized the Toscano's truck and rowboat.
Peter Toscano has been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful disturbing/concealing of human remains, and two weapons offenses. He is currently being held at the Essex County Jail in lieu of $750,000 bail.
Gerald Toscano has been charged with conspiring to commit murder and unlawful disturbing/concealing of human remains. He is currently out on bail of $75,000.
The father and son are expected to be arraigned in court next Wednesday.
