Elderly woman killed hit and run

BROOKLYN Authorities say 74-year-old Bridget Morrissey was struck at Bay Ridge Parkway and 14th Avenue just before 7 a.m. She was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver may have swerved before striking the woman, police said. The vehicle stopped briefly before fleeing the scene.

The car was last seen fleeing on Bay Ridge Parkway at 11th Avenue. Authorities were looking for a small car, possibly silver gray, with New York license plates.

The vehicle reportedly had front end damage and possibly a broken windshield.
