New York Rangers coach Tom Renney was taken to the dressing room after being hit on the head by a stick in the second period against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night. The team announced midway through the third that Renney was still in the arena and "is doing OK" but would not return.

Two Rangers hit Columbus defenseman Rostislav Klesla from behind and an errant stick struck Renney near the 11:30 mark of the second.

He left the bench area and did not return the rest of the period.
