Teen shot in chest, drives to hospital

TRENTON The teen is expected to survive after undergoing emergency surgery.

Trenton police say the unidentified 19-year-old was shot early Friday as he was walking along a downtown street after parking his car.

Officers say he heard a gunshot and felt a burning sensation in his chest, then jumped into his car and drove to nearby Capital Health System-Fuld Campus hospital.

Police say the shooter is described only as a black man who wore a dark mask.
