1 dead, 4 hurt in nightclub stabbings

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) Detective Keith Bryant, a police spokesman, says a young man stabbed the five victims during the melee that broke out at about 11:30 p.m. last night (Friday) at the Crocodile Club on East Main Street.

The name of the man who died is being withheld until his family is notified. Three other victims were treated at a hospital and released. It's not clear whether the fifth person sought medical treatment.

No arrests have been made, and police are not sure what started the fight.

The killing is Bridgeport's 16th homicide of the year.
