Man found bound, stabbed to death

LOWER EAST SIDE An 81-year-old man was found bound and stabbed to death in his home, and police say this may not be a random homicide.

The scene of the crime was 45 Rutgers Street on the Lower East Side.

Police responded to the home just after 2 p.m. to calls of a an man unconscious and unresponsive.

Authorities say the victim was discovered on the floor with three puncture wounds to the torso and pronounced dead by EMS. He was identified as Marcelino Luciano.

His son is a Port Authority police officer.

No weapons were recovered at the scene.

The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing and there are no arrests.
