Man charged with dragging dog with truck

Suffield, Ct. Police say Brian Moson was stopped by police Sunday night after they got a report of a dog being dragged along the roadway.

Police say Moson was stopped on River Boulevard, about a mile from his home. Police say Moson told them that he forgot he tied the 5-year-old Australian Shepherd to the back of the truck.

Police say Moson failed field sobriety tests and has been charged with operating under the influence and animal cruelty.

The dog was taken to VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital in Springfield, Mass. which declined to comment on the dog's status Monday morning.

Moson has been released after posting bond.
