Rothman retains 9th District seat

TRENTON, N.J. Rothman has held the seat since 1996. The 56-year-old served as the mayor of Englewood from 1983 to 1989, and as a Bergen County Surrogate Court Judge from 1993 to 1996.

The Associated Press declared him the winner based on an analysis of voter interviews conducted for the AP by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.

The 9th district includes most of Bergen County and parts of Hudson and Passaic counties.

In 2006, Rothman won with nearly 72 percent of the vote.
