Construction collapse in Queens

QUEENS The collapse occurred as workers poured the concrete at the block-long construction site, on Curzon Road.

Some 110 cubic yards of concrete collapsed the ceiling of the building onto the first floor. All the workers escaped the site and none were injured.

The Buildings Department will determine if site is safe to clean up, and if construction can continue.

Local streets were closed in the area during the emergency activity.
