Restaurant chain robbed in Queens

QUEENS The second floor headquarters of the Pio Pio chain, on 85th Street, was hit just after 11 a.m. this morning.

According to police, the suspects held at least one woman at gunpoint as they robbed what was described as "a large amount of money."

They then fled the scene. No arrests were immediately made.

The chain sends money from its eight restaurants to the Jackson Heights headquarters. Authorities are looking into whether the robbery was an inside job.

Pio Pio, a Peruvian restaurant chain, has eateries in Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx.
