WTC site gets new look, from fence

NEW YORK For years, there hasn't been much to see at the Sept. 11 attack site. Tourists hoping to look through the fence to see construction have been blocked by dark tarps that protect the neighborhood from construction noise.

But on Sunday, the the fence wrapping will be replaced with 8-foot-high renderings of the skyscrapers, Sept. 11 memorial and transit hub planned at the site.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns ground zero, says it's trying to make the 16-acre site more attractive and let the public know what it's doing.

The Freedom Tower skyscraper, the memorial and a transit hub are expected to open at ground zero between 2012 and 2014.
