Controversial rezoning plan approved

A controversial school re-zoning plan on the Upper West Side has won approval despite protests. The decision was made by by District 3's Community Education Council.

On one side of the debate, those who want to make room in overcrowded P.S. 199, which is sought after for its high test scores.

On the other side, parents who will be cut out of the school's district and have to send their kids to a school regarded as less desirable.

The council also voted to relocate the Center and Anderson schools.
