Transit union head takes new job

NEW YORK Transport Workers Union Local 100 President Roger Toussaint has been named strategic planning director for the International Transport Workers' Federation.

Also, Local 100 Secretary Treasurer Ed Watt has been assigned safety department director of the international union and chairman of its safety committee.

Both Toussaint and Watt will remain in their positions at Local 100. Toussaint will continue handling big projects such as contracts with the MTA, which affect more than 35,000 Local 100 members.
