Norwich fire injures 3, displaces 30

NORWICH Authorities say up to 30 people in the Central Avenue building also were displaced by the fire. It was reported early Sunday in a large structure housing several businesses and apartments.

Authorities say the elderly woman suffered burns and was flown by helicopter to Bridgeport Hospital. Her identity and condition were not released later Sunday.

The firefighters were taken to William Backus Hospital for evaluation.

Norwich and state fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, which knocked out electricity to a large portion of the city.
