A disabled veteran died after a suspected drunk driver struck him on Long Island early Sunday.Authorities say a car driven by 24-year-old Lauren Dean hit the man's motorized wheelchair as he made his way to work in Selden.

Police say that Dean kept going.

Cops arrested her a short time later in Coram. Police say the car was badly damaged and its air bags were deployed.

She pleaded not guilty Monday to driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license. Bail was set at $450,000 bond or $150,000 cash.

Defense attorney Steven Politi said his client, who has no criminal record, "denies that she hit anybody."

Police say the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his family.
