Yonkers laundromat death ruled homicide

YONKERS Police say the 25-year-old woman, who worked at the Yonkers Laundromat, was found just before noon Monday. Authorities say Roberta Garcia-Lagos was not breathing when they arrived.

According to a source, the cause of death was asphyxiation. Police do not believe anything was taken from the laundromat, so robbery does not appear to be the motive.

The Journal News reports Galicia moved in with her boyfriend a month ago, but authorities won't say if he is considered a suspect.
