Search for Garza moves to lake

NEW YORK It was found in Echo Lake, just south of Peekskill.

The lake proved to be no hindrance to investigators searching for Garza. The frozen lake was sawed away as state police continue their methodical search for the missing 25-year-old or any clues related to her disapearance.

Divers working in frigid conditions with no visibility, performed grid searches under the ice.

The underwater hunt yielded a shotgun, but its condition puts the weapon in the lake far longer than Garza been missing.

The lake is nearby where she was last seen but just a few miles from the condo of Michael Mele, the 23-year-old registered sex offender at the center of the investigation. Mele's in jail on a probation violation but has kept silent about the young woman he was seen leaving the Marquee nightclub with on December 3rd.

So far despite thorough searches throughout Orange, Sullivan and Duchess counties, in which Laura Garzas brothers and family members took part in, there is no sign of her.

Tomorrow on christmas eve shell have been missing 3 weeks.
