Trees must be free of tinsel and lights and should NOT be placed in plastic bags. The trees will be chipped and turned into compost. The Parks Department will spread the mulch around the city's parks, ball fields and community gardens.
Last year the Sanitation Department collected and mulched 160,000 trees.
