Power has been restored back to the Heartland Village section of Staten Island. About 2,200 customers were in the dark this morning after a car careened into a utility pole.Police say the car crashed into the pole at the intersection of Brielle and Rockland avenues just after 6 a.m. this morning.

The downed pole knocked out power to at least 2,200 customers.

Eyewitness News is told the driver was treated for non-life threatening injures.

An icing condition on the road may have contributed to the crash.
