Man beaten during LI home invasion

January 9, 2009 5:12:34 AM PST
A gang of as many as six men pushed their way into a Centereach home and brutally beat a resident in an apparent targeted home invasion. Police say the suspects stormed into the Arbor Lane home about 10:35 p.m. Thursday. They apparentely duct taped and pistol-whipped the sole resident while they ransacked the house. The suspects, as many as six, then fled with unknown proceeds.

The victim was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital. He was admitted with serious, but non life threatening, injuries.

Suffolk County police believe the victim was targeted by his attackers, but would not say why. No arrests were immediately made.
