January 12, 2009 5:24:09 AM PST
A gas station worker was shot during a robbery at a Clifton gas station Sunday night. The worker was shot at the pump area of the Exxon station at 1050 Route 46 just after 10 p.m. He crawled into the enclosed section of the station and called 911.

Police arrived, and the worker was rushed to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.

The worker was working alone at the time of the shooting.

Police say at least one suspect fled the scene.

Authorities were investigating if the suspect was responsible for the robbery of two men nearby on Stanley Street.

During that robbery, a shot was fired, but no one was hit. The bullet shattered the window of a nearby car.
