Police officers stabbed during confrontation

NEW YORK Police say one of the officers was stabbed in the left eye, but could not immediately say whether his sight had been affected. The other officer was stabbed in the hand.

Police say the two officers were responding to a 911 call of an emotionally disturbed man at a Queens location. They say the 33-year-old man lashed out at the officers. The man was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.

The officers were taken to Jamaica Hospital.
