LI student accused of multiple attacks

BETHPAGE Police say they arrested Bethpage High School student Charles P. Sheridan on charges of assault, menacing, attempted robbery and robbery.

Sheridan pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday and was released without bail. His father, who was not identified, declined comment as he left the courthouse with Sheridan.

Police say the 17-year-old attacked one student Wednesday afternoon, striking him more than a dozen times. They say he pushed two other students, and stole $40 from one of them. Police say he then threatened a teacher and left another with an eye injury.

The school district says Sheridan has been suspended.
