6 charged in Harrison home invasion

January 22, 2009 4:13:12 PM PST
Police say six men from the Bronx and Westchester, including a contractor who scouted an elderly couple's home, have been arrested in an attack that seriously injured the homeowners. Police Chief David Hall says the six men followed the couple to their Harrison home on Sept. 3 and three forced their way into the house and beat the couple.

The 75-year-old man suffered a broken arm and his wife had serious head injuries.

Hall says the contractor, Gary Pilavdjian (pill-AH'-vee-un) of New Rochelle, had done some minor work at the couples' house and "set this whole thing up."

All six men were charged with burglary; no lawyer was listed for Pilavdjian at Town Court.

Police are investigating whether the men might have carried out other similar attacks.
