Police say a man who fled from a car that had been stopped by police in Queens during a drug investigation was shot in the elbow. Police say officers, who were investigating a narcotics complaint, stopped a car Saturday in Flushing driven by two men.

One of the men fled the car on foot and was pursued. Police say an officer fired a shot striking the suspect in the right elbow.

Police say alleged cocaine was recovered from the 27-year-old suspect, who was hospitalized in stable condition. Both men, whose identities have not yet been released, were placed under arrest.

Charges are pending.
