Authorities still don't have a possible motive for the murder.
The shooting happened outside Hayle's off-campus apartment.
Hayle, a Hempstead, NY native, was expected to graduate this year.
Greensboro Police say his death is the third homicide in three days and the second shooting in a week at the apartment complex.
Before college, Hayle attended Uniondale High School.
