Father killed in hit and run

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. The accident happened on South Orange Avenue near Vose Avenue at 8:15 p.m. on Monday.

Authorities say 49-year-old James Walsh of Carteret was walking a few blocks from the Seton Hall campus when he was struck. He was with his daughter and one of her friends.

The car fled westbound on South Orange Avenue, witnesses said.

Frank Bradley was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter and second-degree vehicular homicide as well as leaving the scene of an accident.

Bradley was found by police at his home Monday night after witnesses reported seeing a black Honda Civic leaving the scene of the accident shortly after 8 p.m.
