Obama, first lady visit daughter's school

WASHINGTON Obama and his wife, Michelle, left the White House in the presidential motorcade around 8 a.m., for a ride to the Bethesda, Md., campus of Sidwell Friends School, a private school that 7-year-old Sasha attends.

Neither Sasha nor her older sister, 10-year-old Malia, could be seen by reporters in the motorcade, indicating they likely were already in class when their parents arrived. Malia attends school at the District of Columbia campus of Sidwell Friends.

Obama ridiculed local officials Wednesday for closing school, saying "we're going to have to apply some flinty Chicago toughness to this town."
