Reward offered over decapitated swan

NEW JERSEY The Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is offering the reward, which stems from the discovery of the headless bird in Little Silver Creek on Dec. 16.

Ursula Goetz, the SPCA's executive director, says the swan was an adult male.

She believes the culprit used food to attract the swan, but had to be strong enough to grab the bird, which has powerful wings and a wingspan of four to five feet.
