A woman died in an apartment fire in an East Harlem apartment building. Newscopter 7 was live over the scene.

The fire reportedly broke out inside Apt. 6B of 434 East 115th Street just before 4 a.m. this morning.

Officials say the 40-year-old woman was unable to escape her sixth floor apartment and was pronounced dead.

The fire, which was confined to that apartment, was quickly extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
