Tree falls on man in Brooklyn

A tree fell onto a man in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn as strong winds started moving through the area. The tree fell on Avenue H, near East 17th Street, just after 7:30 a.m.

The man, identified as Manyy Santiago, was being rushed to Kings County Hospital with unknown injuries.

Santiago's sister tells Eyewitness News he had just gotten off the Subway after returning from work at Lincoln Center, when the tree fell on him.

It was one of many trees reported to be falling as strong winds started moving through the area.

Additionally, officials had reports of scaffolding and other debris blowing in the wind.

No other injuries were immediately reported.
