Poll: Paterson trails Cuomo in potential race

ALBANY The Quinnipiac University poll says Paterson trails fellow Democrat Cuomo 55 percent to 23 percent. The poll also shows Paterson ties Giuliani, the former Republican mayor of New York City, at 43 percent.

Quinnipiac reports that 45 percent of New Yorkers approve of the job Paterson is doing - his lowest showing in 11 months as governor.

The poll questioned 1,065 New York voters from last Tuesday through Sunday. It has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
