Cops try to identify beating victim

JERSEY CITY Investigators released pictures of the man, who was brutally beaten Tuesday. Authorities say he was beaten with a brick and remains in a coma.

He is listed in critical condition and unconscious at Jersey City Medical Center.

Police were called to an assault just after 8 p.m. At Cornelison Avenue and Florence Street, where they found the man on his back with blood covering his face.

A witness told authorities that a group of teenage boys surrounded the victim and begain hitting him in the head with a brick.

Police say they have exhausted all means at their disposal to identify the victim. He is described as a Hispanic man, around 25 years old and about 5-foot-10 and 180 to 190 pounds, with a large scar on his neck.
