NYC cabbies to donate tips to orphan twins

New York City taxi drivers are being asked to donate one day's tips to 13-year-old twins whose parents were killed in a hit-and-run accident. The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers is organizing the fundraiser.

It will benefit Omar and Kareen El-Nahal of Staten Island.

Their father, Mohamad El-Nahal , was a livery cab driver.

He and his wife, Mervat Saad Ibrahim, were killed on Feb. 14 as they were driving in his taxi.

The parents' bodies were flown to Egypt for burial. The children are staying in New York with relatives.

The federation says the fund will aid "the children's well being and education."
