Balkon is set to be arraigned Tuesday on grand larceny and petit larceny charges. His attorney's name was not yet on record.
At one of the churches, Balkon allegedly also stole the pocketbook of a parishioner.
Police say all the thefts occurred last month. They do not know how much was taken.
