Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy says his family is trying to get the help his son needs after the 21-year-old's latest arrest. Darien police arrested Ben Malloy Wednesday night on robbery charges.

Police say a Darien man reported that three armed men knocked on his door and ordered him to open it. The man called 911 and the trio fled. Police say the incident may have been an attempted robbery involving marijuana.

Malloy is charged with criminal attempt at first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. He has a court date of March 18.

Greenwich police arrested Ben Malloy on drug charges in 2007.

Police say a 19-year-old man has been arrested in the case on charges of falsely reporting an incident and drug charges involving marijuana.
