The director of fiscal affairs for the Westchester County Board of Legislators is charged with felony assault after a scuffle with police in a county office building. Authorities accuse 80-year-old Robert Boland of hitting an officer on the head with an accordion-style file folder.

Officers say they were trying to subdue his 46-year-old son, Martin Boland, who was arguing with a woman on Tuesday.

Police say file cabinets and furniture were knocked over. Three officers were slightly injured.

Both men are charged with assault. Martin Boland faces additional charges.

Robert Boland's lawyer says the plainclothes officers did not identify themselves.
