Man accused of in-law id theft

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. Jerome Singer has been charged with theft by deception and criminal impersonation. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says the victim was his own father-in-law.

They say the 69-year-old Singer had access to personal information that allowed him to pose as his father-in-law and open numerous credit card accounts.

He also allegedly obtained a mortgage of more than $75,000 on the man's home on Long Beach Island.

Singer, who works as a salesman at Ramsey Mazda, is due back in court next Wednesday.
