Liquor store owner gunned down in NJ

ROSELLE Police officers say the victim, referred to as "Jay" is the 64-year-old owner of Skylark Discount Liquors in Roselle.

Police say the attempted robbery happened around 8:30 last night. Someone apparently came into the store and shot the owner.

He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark -- where he was pronounced dead.

A friend who did not want to be identified told Eyewitness News "Jay" had a lot of friends and was a very hardworking man.

Police have not made any arrest, but they continue to review surveillance video from the store.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to his murder.

He reportedly leaves behind a wife and three adult kids.
