Dog theft caught on camera

WOODSIDE "I never thought someone would just jump the fence and take her," said Beatrice Dinicola.

But someone did. On Wednesday, her three-year-old Chloe was taken from a fenced side yard.

The gate was locked, so she knew the dog couldn't get out. When she looked at the security surveillance camera tape, she realized someone had taken the dog and someone would know who did it!

It happened at 39-61 58th street in Woodside.

The suspect had his friends look out as he disappeared around the side of the building where the dog was. Beatrice thought he must have jumped the locked gate, but she could not believe it when she saw it with her own eyes. "Took a little while to realize that she was missing, and then I realized that they kidnapped her," she said.

Diane is Beatrice's daughter-in-law. She says the camera was installed for security reasons a few years ago.

"Tthey got the dog after her husband passed away, and ever since -- 3 years -- he as been her companion," Diane Dinicola said.

Beatrice cooks Chloe special dog food and worries where she is and how she's being treated.

Chloe has a microchip and Beatrice was working with detectives and putting up reward signs.
