Brooklyn Museum hikes ticket prices

BROOKLYN Beginning on Saturday, admission for adults will be $10, and seniors and students will pay $6. It is the first increase since 2004.

The museum's "Target First Saturday" program, when visitors can attend evening programs each month from 5 to 11 p.m. for free, will continue without charge.

General admission for children under 12 and members also will continue to be free.

The museum says the increase was required by the economic downturn.
