Police: Man stole from gravestone clients

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. Seventy-two-year-old Richard Miron was arrested Saturday on a felony larceny charge and released on a $10,000 bond. He is the father of Stratford Mayor James Miron.

Bridgeport police say Richard Miron, former owner of Lakeview Monument Co., stole the money from more than 50 people who contracted with him to buy headstones. Police say many of those customers never received their gravestones and never got their money back.

Miron also has a third-degree larceny charge pending in a similar case.

Miron could not be reached for comment. Mayor James Miron declined to comment.

Richard Miron is due in Bridgeport Superior Court on April 6.
