Police: Missing woman went willingly

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ Police say 29-year-old Nicholas Jelicks was seen leaving a grocery store with 22-year-old Erin McNamara between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

McNamara is developmentally disabled and hearing impaired, police said.

She was spotted with Jelicks by a passerby just before 4:55 p.m. Thursday on the 300 block of West Front Street in Plainfield, police said.

Jelicks was not at the scene when police first arrived, but showed up after several minutes. Both were taken to Plainfield police headquarters and appeared to be in good condition, Plainfield Public Safety Director Martin Hellwig said.

He said Jelicks, a convicted sex offender, was being interviewed early Thursday evening. He is expected to be charged with not registering as a sex offender when he lived in Plainfield several months ago.

They spent the night at an abandoned home in Bound Brook, police said.

Jelicks served time in prison in 1999 and 2000 for criminal sexual contact and was returned to prison in 2007 for violating provisions of community supervision under Megan's Law.
