The discovery was made at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Montrose VA Hospital in Cortlandt, Westchester County.
Investigators said a maintenance worker found the woman behind a vacant building.
The woman was later identified as Sabrina Rasa, 39, of Peekskill.
Investigators called the death suspicious, but they do not know how she died.
An autopsy is planned for Saturday.
