Man charged with DWI in deadly crash

NEW YORK The driver involved in the crash, 27-year-old Kestin Brown was arrested at the scene.

He is charged with second degree manslaughter, felony assault, and DWI.

Brown is a Gristedes maintenance driver who was on call, and had just taken the van home for the weekend when the incident occurred.

It was the heart of the evening rush when the van hopped the curb, slammed through metal poles with deadly results. 29-year-old Ysemmy Ramos and co-worker 37-year-old Tassia Katsiambanis had just left work when the out of control vehicle hit them on 37th street. People on the street rushed to help the victims, but say there was little they could do. Ramos, a young mother of three, who was expecting her fourth child, was killed instantly Katsiambanis was rushed to Bellevue Hospital.
