Camera found in ladies room at restaurant

MINEOLA, NY Police say Omar Romero, owner of the Poloros Restaurant in Mineola, was charged with two counts of unlawful surveillance.

Police say Romero installed a miniature hidden camera in the ceiling tile of the ladies restroom at his restaurant and had a video cable running from the camera to a monitor in his basement office.

Police say victims included waitresses who worked at the restaurant and at least one female patron who alerted police after noticing the camera.

Romero was arraigned in Hempstead Monday afternoon. He pleaded not guilty. Bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. He is due back in court on April 3.
