43 indicted in drug ring bust

April 2, 2009 12:13:06 PM PDT
The Brooklyn district attorney's office says 43 people have been indicted in connection with a violent, $2 million-a-year cocaine ring. Authorities say a gang leader was caught on audiotape telling one of his men to kill a rival dealer.

The operation had dispatchers who took cell phone orders. They sent drivers to deliver crack to customers' homes in Brooklyn and on Staten Island.

The indictments are the result of an investigation that's been going on since 2008.
