NJ teen drivers to face checkpoints

TRENTON Police in Bergen and Union counties are looking for young motorists who are violating the terms of the state's graduated driver license. The license restricts the number of people allowed in a vehicle and when a teen can drive.

During the three-week program, officers will also give drivers tips on how to be safe.

Nearly 5,000 young drivers were stopped at checkpoints in Bergen County last year. Police issued summonses for license violations to 317.
