NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J.
Authorities said Neha Anand and her mother were playing with
several other children and their mothers when she wandered away
Thursday afternoon and fell into the pond, about 100 feet away from
her home in North Brunswick.
When they noticed the child missing, the women frantically began
looking for her, and the girl's mother soon found her floating in
about two feet of water.
The child was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital
in New Brunswick and placed on life support. She was pronounced
dead about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
